Dua for Good Friendship

In Islam, when we want to ask Allah for something, we make a special request called a “dua.” One important dua is about having good friends. Friends are people we spend time with and care about. This dua asks Allah to bless us with friends who are kind, trustworthy, and supportive. It shows how important it is to have friends who help us be better people and make our lives happier.

DUA’S FOR SEEKING RIGHTEOUS FRIENDS

Dua 1:

اللَّهُمَّ يَسِّرْ لِي جَلِيسًا صَالِحًا

Allahumma yassir-li jaleesan saalihaa

O Allah! Bless me with a good pious companion

Dua 2:

فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَنْتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ۖ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ

Fatirassamawati wal-arzi anta waliyyee fiddunya wal-akhirati tawaffanee musliman wa alhiqnee bissaliheen

Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.


Dua 3:

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ

Rabbana Aamanna Faktubna Ma’ ash-shahideen

Our Lord! We believe; write us down among the witnesses.


Dua 4:


اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ وَحُبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ وَحُبَّ عَمَلٍ يُقَرِّبُنِي إِلَى حُبِّكَ

Allahumma inni as’aluka Hubbaka wa Hubba man yuhibbuka wa Hubba ‘amalin yuqarribuni ila Hubbika.

O Allah, I ask You for Your Love, and the love of whoever loves You, and the love of deeds that will bring me closer to Your Love.


Dua 5:

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِىْ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِىْ الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil ‘akhirati hasanatan waqina ‘adhaban-naar

Our Lord, give us good in this world and in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.

يَا وَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًا * لَّقَدْ أَضَلَّنِي عَنِ الذِّكْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَاءَنِي ۗ وَكَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ لِلْإِنسَانِ خَذُولًا

“Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! He indeed led me astray from the Reminder (this Qur’an) after it had come to me. And Shaitaan is ever a deserter to man in the hour of need.” [Surah al-Furqaan (25): 28-29]
